Calypsus Brass quintet will perform near death and other contemporary works as part of their residency recital at Eastern Carolina University. Their residency is part of the North Carolina NEWMUSIC initiative, and included panel discussions, masterclasses, and more.

As part of “an evening of voices in treble,” New Wave Opera will preview an aria from THUMP - Kimberly’s setting of “The Tell-Tale Heart.” SCREAM QUEENS will feature a wide selection of contemporary music for treble voices, performed from the iconic high-rise stage in Mendelssohns - a beloved classical music bar in Portland.

Kimberly’s opera trio, IF YOU CHEESE, and mezzo aria from THUMP (based on the Tell-Tale Heart) will be performed as part of an evening of contemporary opera music at the iconic Raven’s Manor Haunted Bar. The Southwestern Oklahoma State University and University of Central Oklahoma combined flute choirs will give the world premiere of Running in the Eye, a new work for flute choir inspired by tornadoes, at this year's National Flute Association Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

The Merian Ensemble, comprised of musicians from the Atlanta Symphony and Dallas Symphony, will be releasing a brand new album of their commissioned works. Produced by the legendary Elaine Martonne, the album will not only feature Kimberly’s Just Another Climb, but new works by Jennifer Higdon, Clarice Assad, Nicole Chamberlain, Leilehua Lanzilotti, and Soon Hee Newbold.

The album will be released by PARMA on August 2nd.

Kimberly’s newest work, If You Cheese, will receive its world premiere as part of New Wave Opera’s inaugural concert on July 27th, 2024. This short opera trio follows a local business owner trying to fill a big, last-minute cheeseboard order—receiving assistance (and no shortage of puns) from her friends.

Minneapolis-based chamber winds ensemble LADYBAND will feature Kimberly’s Passing Through as part of an evening of music at Violet Wine on June 14th!

The program will also feature Tawnie Olson's final movement from her "Composition in rouge, bleu et jaune," and Jean Françaix's "Sept Danses”—inspired by the children's book "La Malheurs de Sophie." The book outlines Sophie's various misadventures which include shaving off her eyebrows, planning a funeral for her favorite doll, and eating her mother's pet goldfish.

Resonance Ensemble will reprise their performance of Seek What You Want to Find as part of their 15th anniversary celebration concert this June. The work, commissioned as part of their Portland Protests concert block, was inspired by the paintings of the recently-departed Henk Pander—which depicted scenes from the historic Vanport Flood as well as the protests following the murder of George Floyd in 2020—and text by Dr. S. Renee Mitchell.

Following the concert, Kimberly’s work will also be recorded as part of Resonance Ensemble’s latest CD project, Safe Harbor.

The Driftless Urban Orchestra unveils a newly-expanded version of Efflorescence at La Crosse’s beloved arts and music festival, ARTSPIRE. Originally commissioned by winds-doubling soloist Colton Sprenkle as part of the Spring Forward commissioning series, Efflorescence features three movements about different types of plants (herbs, cycads, and succulents). The new version was commissioned by DUO director Cullan Lukas.

The Eau Claire Memorial High School orchestra program is giving their spring concert on Tuesday, May 21st—with the Old Abe group reprising their performances of Runaway and Homeward for string orchestra. The group recently had a week-long clinic and composer visit on the two pieces in preparation for the premiere on May 15th.

The sjel duo, Sarah Hetrick (saxophone) and Paul Millette (percussion), will be performing “ROOTED” at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy at UT Arlington as part of the Professionals Concert.

The duo commissioned the piece for saxophone and marimba, inspired by the various uses of roots in paintings by Frida Kahlo.

Memorial High School’s Old Abe Orchestra presents two world premieres as part of the school’s Fine Arts Night! This year’s theme, Home, includes the premiere of four new works by both Kimberly and composer Hunter Hanson. Kimberly’s two new works, Runaway and Homeward will be performed by the older group to conclude the program following a week of clinics and masterclasses with the students.

The New Jersey Youth Symphony has commissioned a new work for their flute ensembles, which will premiere as part of the NJYS Flute Ensemble Alumni Event on May 4th, 2024.

The substantial new work, Night Shifts, was inspired by the life cycle of stars and is comprised of three movements: Cosmic Nursery, Dwarves and Giants, and Adding to the Dark.

Premiering as part of the grand opening of new exhibits at the celebrated children’s literature musuem, The Rabbit hOle, My Father’s Dragon will at long last be unveiled! Duo Daniel Ketter (cello) and Emlyn Johnson (flute) bring the beloved children’s classic by Ruth Stiles Gannett to life in this commissioned work by Kimberly R. Osberg.

Kimberly will appear at the Hollywood Theatre this March to introduce a special screening of Under the Skin. Directed by Johnathan Glazer, the film features a fantastic score by composer Mica Levi, which Kimberly will discuss ahead of the screening.

The Philadelphia All-City Band will premiere BRAWL as part of their spring concert on March 12th at the Kimmel Center (home of the Philadelphia Orchestra). The work was written especially for this year’s concert band at the request of conductor Patricia Cornett.

Calypsus Brass gives the world premiere of near death as part of a recital of living composers. The work, inspired by whale falls, will also be part of Calypsus Brass’s debut album of newly commissioned works.
